Think you know the face?
Best known for playing Billy, Brenda's unhinged brother, in Channel 4's Six Feet Under, and also played Elton in the 1995 smash-hit teen movie Clueless.

First brush with fame:
Starred in a Chicago production of Tennessee Williams' last play A House Not Meant to Stand, aged six. "I actually met Tennessee a few weeks before he died. He was a real old drunkard!"

Significant other:
"Not at the moment. I recently broke up with someone, but she's still a good friend. I'm just looking forward to having some time to myself to chill out and relax."

Secret passion:
"The swing I built in my back yard from a great pine tree. It's real high and it was all my own work, so I'm quite proud of that."

Secret ambition:
To take to the West End stage. "Jake Gyllenhaal is going to do Romeo and Juliet in Londen and they wanted me to play Mercutio, but I just don't feel I can do it right now. I've pretty much been working non-stop these past few years, but it would be nice to do it at some point."

Idol:
"I don't think I have one. Perhaps life would be a little simpler if I had!"

Goddess:
"I can't say, because when I eventually get married my wife-to-be will see this and say that she's not her and it'll end up messy, so I'll take the fifth amendment on that one!"

Gratuitous name-drop:
Jennifer Lopez, his co-star in 2001's Angel Eyes. "She was great. I had no problem with her. She was cool, down to earth and a hard worker."

Forthcoming projects:
Teen crime, drugs and sex saga Thirteen alongside Holly Hunter and Second World War tale U-Boat, co-starring William H Macy.
